GEOGRAPHY
Norway, about the area 323 878 km2, occupies the western part of the Scandinavian Peninsula and borders Sweden, Finland and Russia. The country is long and narrow, and the fjords cut deep into the coast – long, narrow sea bays, limited by highs, steep rock walls. Mountain ranges, topped with glaciers counted among the largest in Europe, they occupy more than half of the land. Only 3% land area suitable for cultivation.
The phrase "The country of the polar night” it's more than just an advertising slogan, as almost a third of Norway's territory lies to the north of the Arctic Circle. In the area outside the polar circle, the sun does not set for at least one day and does not rise for one day.
