Lindesnes (arched peninsula) it is the southernmost point in Norway. Place, where the Skagerrak meets the North Sea, it clearly shows the power of nature. According to tourist brochures, “the camera will cover more here than on the Nordkapp” (distant o 1518 km in a straight line). However, a classic lighthouse overlooking the cape, Lindesnes Lighthouse, it delights not only amateurs of photography.

The first lantern lit up in this place in 1655 r. To warn the ships from approaching the rocks, coal and tallow candles were burned. The current lantern, built in the year 1915, of course it uses electricity and is visible from a distance 19,5 nautical miles.

Also of interest are the Lindesnes Region Museum and the Gustav Vigeland Gallery, where you can learn about the history of the region and the works of the aforementioned sculptor. The museum is open from 21 VI to 9 VIII from Monday to Saturday in hours 11.00 – 16.00, and on Sundays from 13.00 do 17.00.

Accommodation and gastronomy

By the sea, 3,5 km from the lighthouse, is open all year round (only trailers in winter) Lindesnes Camping and Cabin Rental (n38258874, fax 38258892). In the season, setting up a tent for two people costs 100 nkr, for 350 nkr you can rent a trailer, while the prices for accommodation in houses are from 200 do 560 nkr. About 11 km north of the cape is located modest, ale przytulny Lindesnes Gjestehus (ir38259700, fax 38259765), in which accommodation with breakfast for one person costs 325 nkr.
