It is worth visiting the Norsk Bergwerksmuseum (Norwegian Mining Museum; 32723200), located at the bridge, in derived from 1844 r. silver smelting, where the history of mining in Kongsberg is presented, illustrated with antiques, models and samples of minerals. Old metallurgical furnaces have been preserved in the basement. The Royal Mint also belongs to the museum, moved to this place in 1686 r. from Akershus Fortress in Oslo, and a museum dedicated to skiing, collecting mainly silver cups won by Norwegian skiers. At certain times, this part of the museum is visited by Olympic champions Birger Ruud and Petter Hugsted.
